By creating an account or using Your Friend With A Truck ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Platform Overview
Your Friend With A Truck is a marketplace that connects customers who need items moved or delivered with independent drivers who own trucks or large vehicles. The Platform facilitates job posting, bidding, payment processing, and communication between parties.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.
4. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate descriptions and photos of items to be moved.
- Ensure items are ready for pickup at the specified time and location.
- Complete payment promptly through the Platform's payment system.
- Treat drivers with respect and provide a safe working environment.
- Do not request transport of illegal, hazardous, or prohibited items.
5. Driver Responsibilities
- Maintain a valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance.
- Provide accurate vehicle and service area information.
- Handle all items with reasonable care during transport.
- Complete accepted jobs in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional conduct with customers at all times.
6. Independent Contractor Status
Drivers are independent contractors, not employees of Your Friend With A Truck. The Platform does not control how drivers perform their services. Drivers are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and vehicle maintenance.
7. Payments
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
- Customers pay the accepted bid amount plus any applicable fees (rush fees, helper fees).
- Drivers receive payouts after job completion, subject to a platform service fee.
- Refunds and disputes are handled on a case-by-case basis.
8. Cancellation Policy
- Customers may cancel open or accepted jobs through the Platform.
- Excessive cancellations may result in account restrictions.
- Drivers who repeatedly cancel accepted jobs may face account suspension.
9. Ratings and Reviews
Both customers and drivers can rate each other after job completion. Ratings should be honest and fair. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines.
10. Prohibited Activities
- Circumventing the Platform's payment system
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
- Providing false or misleading information
- Using the Platform for illegal purposes
- Attempting to access other users' accounts
11. Limitation of Liability
Your Friend With A Truck is a marketplace platform and does not provide moving or delivery services directly. We are not liable for damages, loss, or injury that may occur during the moving process. Drivers are independent contractors responsible for their own insurance coverage.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute between a customer and driver, both parties should first attempt to resolve the issue directly. If a resolution cannot be reached, contact our support team for mediation.
13. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, receive consistently poor ratings, or engage in prohibited activities.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
